Our Mission

Founded in 1998, the GeoSociety is a student organization at the University of Houston that seeks to build fellowship between geoscience students by organizing social events, facilitating career preparation, volunteering in the community and exploring geology outside of the classroom.

Our Geoscience department is the largest in North America and GeoSociety strives to meet the needs of its growing student body and progressive programs.  Each year we organize tailgates and parties, several career prep activities, guest lectures, recruiting events, a graduate/undergraduate mentorship program and a week long winter geo-tourism field trip.

We welcome any undergraduate or graduate students at the University of Houston interested in geology to join.
